At the 14th edition of the Boomerangs awards, a contest rewarding the interactive communications industry, Bos, an NVI partner, was awarded a prize in the Viral Advertising category for the use of social media during an advertising campaign. NVI is extremely proud to have contributed brilliantly towards the success of this viral campaign, conducted on behalf of the show Urban Legends on Canal D.
The joint campaign run by teams at Bos and NVI, aimed to promote the show’s new season by creating a hoax, specifically by generating belief in the presence of a great white shark in the St. Lawrence River. NVI provided the programming and integration of a blog, as well as the animation and the viralization of promotional clips. The success of the exercise was based on a strategy to encourage bloggers to share and disseminate the story: it worked so well that even the popular blogger Dominic Arpin spread the news!
